Many of our fellow citizens, clients, partners and employees suffered damage in the devastating earthquake that hit the Sisak and Moslavina County and central Croatia in the last two days.
In these grave circumstances, whilst all public health employees make exceptional efforts in containing the pandemic caused by Covid-19 and care of everyone’s health, the earthquake consequences have made the work of the Sisak General Hospital even more difficult. Given the importance of the hospital for the Sisak and Moslavina County and the number of patients under their care, OTP banka decided to donate HRK 1.5 million feeling the responsibility and need to help repair the damage caused by the earthquake.
In addition, to facilitate the necessary repairs and secure the essential aid to the citizens, the City of Sisak and the Sisak and Moslavina County will receive HRK 1 million. As a part of its programme Green light to entrepreneurs, the bank shall secure additional HRK 500,000 to help the affected entrepreneurs in the area.
For its employees whose homes sustained damage, OTP banka provided half a million kunas for home repairs and HRK 15 thousands as financial aid to each employee.
“All of us at OTP banka deeply sympathise with the population of the affected regions, and send our condolences to the families of the persons who died in this disaster. We are aware that doctors, medical staff and their patients have been in an arduous situation, which has been complicated even further by fear and stress. As a token of our appreciation of the great efforts invested by the healthcare workers nationwide in treatment of their patients in these challenging times, we have made a donation to the Sisak hospital hoping it will make the situation a little bit better. We have provided aid to the affected towns so that they could take care of those in need. We will make sure that all our employees who have lost their homes in this earthquake get the help and the care they need,” said Balázs Békeffy, president of the Board of OTP banka d.d.
This year, OTP banka donated over HRK 5 million for repairing of the damages sustained in the earthquake, for fighting against Covid-19 pandemic and for furnishing children’s wards of hospitals nationwide.
